Alachua County Sports & Event Center Ribbon Cutting and Open House

This fun, free, family event includes appearances by Albert & Alberta and the Gator Cheerleaders. There will be bounce houses, face painting (and other kids’ activities), a DJ, and food trucks. Sports demonstrations and activities are planned (Basketball, Pickleball, Volleyball, and Batting Cages).

It is time to celebrate the opening of the Alachua County Sports and Events Center at Celebration Pointe, which is the culmination of years of research, planning, negotiation, and thoughtful, strategic partnership with Alachua County’s partners at Celebration Pointe.

This project is about much more than the exciting features offered at the facility, which are incredibly impressive, and include the only indoor banked track in the state of Florida. This project is about all of the people who will benefit from employment opportunities and the growth of local businesses via visitor spending in Alachua County across all sectors of the hospitality industry – lodging, restaurants, retail, attractions, groceries, transportation, and more. Through this investment, our County Commission has shown their dedication to both the growth of the industry and to the destination by creating new and exciting reasons for regional, national, and international visitation to Alachua County, elevating the visibility of the County and creating far-reaching positive brand awareness.
