Gainsevillians know that we always have celebration on tap, and that’s not changing in 2021. In fact, there’s more to celebrate than ever! With the grand opening of Dave & Buster’s, free monthly concert series and family-friendly matinees on the Green, Celebration Pointe is the first place you should look for fun Gainesville events. Dave & Buster’s newest location will open at Celebration Pointe on February 8, making it the ninth location in Florida. Attend the Grand Opening to be among the first to eat, drink and play in the best entertainment environment around. The 18,500-square-foot space features a chef-crafted food menu, gourmet drinks, hundreds of the latest arcade games and a state-of-the-art D&B Sports Bar with dozens of HDTVs. For your safety, proper health precautions will be in place in accordance with CDC guidelines. We can’t wait to see you there!
As always, you’re invited to join us for one of our free monthly concert series, Jazz on the Green. Falling on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 7 to 9 PM, you’ll find live music from different jazz-forward acts. This month, it’s the ever-popular Ed Roth Trio on February 13. Can you think of a better atmosphere for a pre-Valentine’s Day date or a Galentine’s Day celebration? Swing by just for the sounds or bop while you shop before sitting down to dinner at one of Celebration Pointe’s restaurants.
Can’t get enough of free monthly concerts? Us either! Join us on the 4th Friday of each month from 7 to 9 PM to start your weekend on the right note with Playlist @ The Pointe, which features a wide range of musical stylings. Whether it’s country, soul, rock or something in between there’s always a mix of talented artists to entertain your family and friends with live music. Next up is Gosia & Ali on February 26. Stop by for shopping and dining, and stay to listen to Gainesville’s favorite duo, whose music ranges from easy listening and upbeat dance music to Brazilian pop and Latin jazz.
Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romance! Celebrate your love of your family in lead-up to Valentine’s Day with a family-friendly outing on Sunday, February 7. At 2:00 PM, we’ll begin a matinee screening of Gnomeo & Juliet (2011) that everyone is sure to love.
Get your tickets soon (only $15!) and arrive early to get the best seats available. Bring a blanket to spread out and enjoy the day. Seating will be available according to the socially distanced area provided. CDC guidelines will be followed, including the required wearing of masks when not social distancing.
