Enjoy the Rooftop View from Visors at Spurrier’s

Open since the start of fall, Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille is cause for celebration! Named after one of the greatest head college football coaches of all time, Spurrier’s at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville has some of the most delicious food in the area. And of course, no trip to Spurrier’s is complete without a visit to Visors, the restaurant’s rooftop bar at Celebration Pointe, located just upstairs.

If you’re looking for great dining in Gainesville, you’ve found it all: great food, great drinks, and great weather. Visors overlooks the Celebration Pointe Promenade and outdoor entertainment venue, giving guests a one-of-a-kind view of all that happens down below. Or catch the game on one of many TVs in the open-air space. Whatever your style, guests are sure to enjoy every minute.

Stay and Relax A While

Walking into Visors is to know you’re part of the family – the Gator family. It instantly feels like the place you want to be. Choose a spot at the bar, a high-top table near the windows or on the green, or in the plush seating along the outer sides to take in views and the open air. Once you’re comfortable, find the game on TV and get your order in for the start of a great night.

Food

The main meals might be served downstairs at Spurrier’s, but that doesn’t mean the food upstairs isn’t just as good. The food at Visors is so good, in fact, that we recommend giving everything a try. Choose from buffalo wings and short rib tostones, or go for the lobster rolls paired with eggplant fritters. Wagyu beef or pulled pork sliders are a great option, too. The shrimp and grits cakes are a classic favorite that goes well with everything. In the mood for something lighter? Try the smoked fish dip, which is served with raw veggies and crackers, or go for the pimento cheese dip and whole wheat pita. There’s even an oyster bar with the delicacies on ice just waiting to be devoured. At Visors, there are options for everyone to enjoy.

The Bar

At this one-of-a-kind Gainesville bar, the drink menu is full of lively concoctions, from cocktails with names that fit the HBC’s legacy to draft beers, homemade seltzers, the perfect wine list, and even a selection of non-alcoholic options. Not sure what to order? Try the Touchdown Dance, a savory cocktail made with bourbon, peach, thyme, lemon, and honey. In the mood for something with more of a kick? Go for the ‘Kick’ made with tequila, orgeat, and lime. When it’s time for celebrations big or small, salute the ball coach by ordering a ‘Spurrier’s Sparkling Sangria’ filled with the sweet aromas of orange blossom, lychee, peach, and agave. But don’t put your drink order in just yet — you’ll want to look over the entire menu first so you don’t miss a thing.

The Championship Room

For more private affairs, book the Championship Room. Made for the most perfect of celebrations, reserve this room for 12-16 guests and savor everything Visors has to offer. The private, personalized dining area (or boardroom) features portraits of every national championship-winning Gator coach across every sport, each painted by former UF football player James Bates. Eighteen portraits currently hang on the walls, but there is room for many more. Have music or a presentation to share your own legacy with the group? Hooking into the 75” flatscreen TV is easier than remembering the winning play.

We know you’ll enjoy your visit to Visors, Gainesville’s most iconic bar. Whether it’s your first time or a long-standing tradition, you’ll feel right at home. Next time you visit Spurrier’s, while heading up to Visors, keep an eye out for the 1966 Heisman trophy and know that’s where it all began. Cheers!
