Tree Lighting Ceremony: Festive Fun for All Ages

A fairly new tradition in Gainesville, we hosted our first tree lighting ceremony at Celebration Pointe in 2019, and each year, we’ve seen the event grow bigger and brighter. This celebration brings together friends, families, and neighbors from all over Gainesville to bask in the holiday spirit in a lively, welcoming atmosphere filled with joy.

The tree lighting ceremony at Celebration Pointe offers something for everyone. From live musical and dance performances, there’s no shortage of entertainment throughout the evening.

We have partnered with local businesses and organizations to bring you an unforgettable experience that showcases Gainesville’s unique charm and warmth, including enchanting performances from:

• Danscompany of Gainesville will perform again this year, previewing their upcoming holiday tradition, Cinderella, to add an extra twinkle of magic to the air.
• Williams Elementary School Choir will help everyone get into a festive mood as they fill the air with classic carols and holiday cheer.
• RADDSports Cheer brings the energy and excitement to ensure the evening is filled with joy and enthusiasm.

Following these performances is the big moment: the lighting of our magnificent tree and other holiday decorations. Seeing the towering tree adorned with sparkling lights and dazzling decorations is truly a sight to behold! What’s better than gathering with your loved ones and witnessing the magic as the tree lights up for the first time this holiday season?

Make It a Night to Remember with More Festive Fun

The fun doesn’t stop with our favorite Gainesville Christmas tree lighting! Celebrate the spirit of the season by exploring the surrounding attractions of Celebration Pointe.

• Warm up with some hot cocoa and sweet treats from local favorites like Kilwins (their caramel corn is a must-try!) and Le Macaron (try their seasonal favorites like pumpkin or gingerbread macarons). 
• Catch a holiday movie at Regal Celebration Pointe to wrap up your evening with some cinematic magic. Did you hear? Santa has a full schedule, but he’s making time to visit the Bass Pro Shops at Celebration Pointe! Whether or not you can make it to our Gainesville Christmas tree lighting ceremony, be sure to stop by Bass Prop Shops in Celebration Pointe to see Santa’s Wonderland. 

Between now and December 24th, families can drop in for a free photo with Santa as well as a free shareable video with Santa! The fun doesn’t stop there; kiddos will love the festive weekday giveaways like wooden ornaments (November 18th to December 6th) and bass-shaped cookie cutters (December 9th to 24th) while supplies last. Plus, there are a few other special opportunities to spend time with Santa at Bass Pro Shops this season:

• Yuletide Breakfast on November 16th & 23rd and December 9th at 9am
